On January 21, State-level Congress Workers’ Convention in Mangalore


On January 21, the State-level Congress Workers’ Convention was held in Mangalore, with an expected participation of 100,000 representatives. Salim Ahmed, the Chief Secretary of the Vidhana Parishat and the Working President of KPCC, announced the convention’s details on Friday.

He stated that as per the direction of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, the statewide convention is scheduled for January 21, with an anticipation of around 100,000 representatives from Karnataka participating. The decision to hold the convention in Mangalore was made, and Salim Ahmed expressed hope for a massive turnout.

The event took place at the Congress Bhavan in Mallikatte, presided over by K. Harish Kumar, the District Congress President. Salim Ahmed, in his speech, mentioned the expectations of hosting representatives from across the state and emphasized the significance of the convention.

Prominent leaders such as Dinesh Gundu Rao, B. Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Abhayachandra Jain, Ashok Kumar Rai, Manjunath Bhandary, Shakuntala Shetty, J.R. Lobo, and former council member Ivan D’Souza addressed the gathering. The convention witnessed the presence of Ashok Kodavoor, Ibrahim Kodijal, P.V. Mohan, Mamatha Gatti, Rakshit Shivaram, Y.K. Monu, M.A. Gafoor, Sadasiva Ulla, among others.
