Heat's Nightmare Continues: Nuggets Secure Fourth Consecutive Win 

MIAMI, March 13 (UPI) -- After a nine-month hiatus since their last face-off in Miami, the Denver Nuggets clashed with the Miami Heat in a rematch of last year's NBA Finals, delivering an outcome reminiscent of their previous encounters.

Once again, Nikola Jokic showcased his masterful skills, maneuvering  with finesse to seize control of the game. Whether driving for  impressive rim finishes or orchestrating assists to his teammates during  crucial moments at the Kaseya Center, the two-time NBA MVP proved  instrumental in the Nuggets' 100-88 triumph in Miami. 

Forward Michael Porter Jr. contributed significantly with a game-high 25  points and seven rebounds, reinforcing the defending champions'  dominance, a theme that echoed their prior victory over the Heat on Feb.  29 in Denver. 

"Our team's cohesion and trust in one another are our greatest assets," remarked Nuggets coach Michael Malone during the post-game conference. "Watching them play together is truly enjoyable."

In a display of superior shooting, the Nuggets outclassed the Heat, boasting a 48.8% field goal percentage compared to the Heat's 42.5%. Struggling from beyond the arc, the Heat managed to sink only 5 of 21 attempted 3-pointers.

Although the Heat initially gained momentum, their first-quarter lead proved short-lived. A swift 18-2 run by the Nuggets quickly shifted the dynamics, as they limited the Heat to a mere 37.5% shooting accuracy, including a paltry 16.7% from 3-point range, concluding the quarter with a 26-19 lead.

Despite a competitive second quarter where the Heat managed to outscore  the Nuggets 25-24, they fell short of reclaiming the lead until the  third quarter. Center Bam Adebayo spearheaded the Heat's efforts with  nine points in the frame, engaging in a back-and-forth exchange with the  Nuggets. However, the Heat entered the final quarter trailing 72-71. 

As the game entered its decisive phase, the Nuggets seized control with an 11-4 run early in the fourth quarter, extending their lead to double digits and securing a firm grip on the game. They outpaced the Heat 28-17 in the final 12 minutes, sealing their victory.

Despite a valiant effort, Adebayo's team-high 17 points and 13 rebounds were insufficient to turn the tide for the Heat, with forward Jimmy Butler contributing 15 points in a losing effort.
