Located in Badami, the cave temples here are a complex of Jain and Hindu. These temples are good examples of rock-cut architecture of India, the Chalukya Architecture of Badami.
Each of these cave temples consists of 4 different temples, each of these hold depictions and intricate carvings. Most of these carvings depict Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva in different avatars. The first 3 temples represent the style of the Brahmans. The 4th temple is dedicated to Tirthankaras of the Jains. These cave temples are not only beautiful but are also candidates of the UNESCO list of world’s heritage. This is a perfect visit for those interested in rock-cut architecture.
